Yayyyyyyyyyyy!

Noferin News

In which we wave farewell to the year that's gone by.

My favorite Aussies, Noferin, are headed to LA! Woo-hoo!

Well, for now it's only a piece of their art, but it is paving the way for their solo show coming this spring to Copro Nason! YAY!

This beautiful new painting is part of The Big Money Art Auction happening at Copro Nason starting December 8th.

BBC!

Really liking all the new stuff over at BBC! I have been a fan for awhile, and was always jealous of Dan's Ice Cream sneaks... they rarely make anything for girls, but I would totally sport the new diamond print thermal, or robot hoodie!
They used to have a rad waffle print purse with the ice cream / crossbones logo on it, but it's not on for sale on their site anymore. Guess I can't add it to my wishlist :(

BBC has got a new blog, too.

Manatee Amigurumi

Totally in love with this little fellow, available on Needle Noodle's Etsy shop.
I <3 Manatees!!!

2-D Rings / Soop

Zlda
Soop

While perusing NotCot , I was reminded of the trendy 2D rings I have been seeing everywhere lately. I checked out a few of the sites featured on NotCot, like Blanc&Reed, AMT Inc., Zlda, and Soop.
AMT Inc.
Blanc&Reed

Soop's rings will be available on Etsy starting November 30th. I was intrigued by some of their other products, as well.

Isn't Fleur a lovely cork placemat?

Couldn't resist Hutch, the bunny table!

Plate is for Pea- this is brilliant. It has little dimples for the peas that tend to roll off your plate and onto the floor. Even comes with an accompanying booklet with ideas for games to play with the aforementioned peas.

Cut x Paste

I spent a little time admiring the wares on Cut x Paste today. There are some really wonderful paper goods and prints, as well as handbags, craft supplies, clothing, etc.
Everything is very well priced, and I'm sure it's the perfect site to find lots of special little gifts for the crafty gals in your life.

Nagi Noda

I don't know how I just now learned about the Japanese artist Nagi Noda, but she is amazing! She has done a ton of rad music videos, created the half-panda, half-other animal character 'Hanpanda', and does an incredible clothing line called "Broken Label" in collaboration with Mark Ryden. Phew!
She has made music videos for bands like The Scissor Sisters and Tiga, and my personal favorite video, which is perfect for Christmas, is entitled 'A Small Love Story about Alex and Juliet', and can be seen here.

Watch this, here.

Fawn Gehweiler

Fawn's works for her recent show at Moshi Moshi are now available online. See them all here.

Fake Bags!

These bags are pretty awesome! They are made by the artist Zinoo in Korea, and you can buy them from Poketo. Only 100 of these bags were made, for an exhibition called "Wake Up Andy Warhol." These bags would make great gifts!

Prius on Weeds

Hahahahaha! It's true... my car is pret-ty quiet, so you better watch out!

Aussie Patches

Cute new items are up at Ali J's Aussie Patches Etsy store! There's prints, earrings, pillows, cards, pocket mirrors, badges, etc. I really like the Illustrations, and all the girls have cute rosy cheeks! There is also an Aussie Patches blog, here.
Ali J is from Perth, Australia, and I am loving everything Australian these days!

145 Stories in a Small Box

I am a huge McSweeney's fan, and I love everything they publish. I just finished the first two books of the three included in One Hundred Forty-Five Stories in a Small Box. The authors include Deb Olin Unferth, Sarah Manguso, and Dave Eggers. I saved the Eggers book for last. :)

Here's a little bit about the set, which I recommend reading while curled up at night drinking hot chocolate with bouncy marshmallows.

In the grand tradition of Neapolitan ice cream, ZZ Top, and Cerberus, the tri-headed guardian of Hades, this set brings together individual short-fiction collections by three talented practitioners of the short-short form: Sarah Manguso, Dave Eggers, and Deb Olin Unferth. Manguso’s Hard to Admit and Harder to Escape offers up crystalline recollections of childhood flashpoints; Eggers’s How the Water Feels to the Fishes brings a deadpan absurdism to the intimacy and vision of his earlier work; and Unferth’s rollicking Minor Robberies unleashes a horde of off-kilter characters and indelible misadventures. Each author’s work comes in its own hardcover foil-stamped volume, and the three volumes are housed in an elegant slipcase decorated with bears and golden smoke.

Apak : New Prints!

The lovely duo that is APAK have released 10 new prints in their Etsy shop! Prints include the seasons series, which Apak did for the Giant Robot Biennale. Check out Apak's blog here, and site, here.

Miss Van : Atame

Above is a video invitation to Miss Van's new show, Atame, at Galerie Magda Danysz in Paris. I received a preview of all the show pieces, which are gorgeous. I am especially liking the new sketches.
Miss Van's work really continues to grow in exciting ways. I am sad I can't see this show in person, and encourage anyone who can make it to check it out. Her work is remarkably beautiful in person, when you can see all the sketched lines underneath the paint. Atame runs November 24th through December 29th.

Murakami Animations

I went to the ©Murakami show for the 3rd time yesterday... still so amazing! If you haven't gone yet, you need to go!
Going to Murakami reminded me about how excited I am for KaiKai & Kiki to be completed. There is a very short snippet online that you can watch, but you can see much more of it at the exhibit. I adore KaiKai & Kiki, Murakami's spiritual guardians, the physical embodiment of good (Kaikai) and evil (Kiki). They always have been my favorite of all the characters.

Here's the LV animation Murakami did a few years back- it always makes me feel like I am being sucked into his amazing universe along with the little girl featured.

New Stuff!

I've got a ton of new stuff in my shop! Bags galore, and some new Decorama vinyl wall art, too!
Go check it out!
