New Mythicals from Monster Factory!

Remember the adorable Mythicals plush Kickstarter last year from Monster Factory that resulted in the wonderful mythical beings Carl the Yeti, Jeff the Pegasus, Spencer the Dragon, Margot the Unicorn, Louie the Monster, and Miranda the Sea Monster? Now, there's some new characters being added to this merry band of misfits!

Meet...Paul the Minotaur, Feliz the Cyclops, and Martha the Ghost!

From the Monster Factory press release:

A Minotaur named Paul. Keep an eye on Paul if you go around town with him. He gets lost in malls, parking lots, crowded places… you get the picture

A Cyclops named Felix. Felix would rather suffer the discomfort of not being able to see clearly than have to wear his glasses in public.

A ghost named Martha. Rarely seen during daylight hours, Martha has been a night owl her entire… um… life?

This new squad of magical creatures officially launches on October 26th, but are currently available for pre-order via monsterfactory.net. You can also find and buy the rest of the Mythicals on the site as well!

The Mythicals Kickstarter Progress!

I was super excited to come home from SDCC to the news that the Monster Factory Kickstarter campaign has been funded! It's been doing so well, in fact, that two out of three stretch goals have been unlocked! PEGASUS and YETI will become real! Now there's 14 days left to unlock the last stretch goal character! I know it can be done... visit The Mythicals on Kickstarter to help unlock the last monster!

Monster Factory: The Mythicals

I am a HUGE Monster Factory fan. Their monsters are always so adorable and original, and I am always impressed with the quality- super soft, well-stuffed, lovable, huggable monsters. Their newest venture is one of the most exciting yet... meet THE MYTHICALS! This Kickstarter campaign will make your favorite mythical beasts an adorable reality. There's a Dragon named Spencer, a Unicorn named Margot, and a monster names Louie.

Check out the campaign HERE, let's make these monsters more than a myth!

P.S. I have my very own Margot- stay tuned for updates about the progress of this campaign and photos from my adventures with the cutest unicorn that ever was.

Monster Factory for Gallery 1988's: “Is This Thing On #2 Too”

 photo Land-shark-1_zpseb21e898.jpg

Love this new custom Monster Factory plush for Gallery 1988′s group show: “Is This Thing On #2 Too”, a tribute to SNL.

From the press release:

Beware of Land Shark: Monster Factory unveils a comical new plush design for Gallery 1988′s group show: “Is This Thing On #2 Too”, a tribute to SNL.

When Land Shark drops by unannounced, you should probably pretend you’re not home. He is NOT a plumber. Nor a dolphin.

Collectable toy brand, Monster Factory is excited to announce that their newest one-of-a-kind plush art piece, “A Monster Named Land Shark,” will be on display at the pop culture gallery, Gallery 1988, in their group show, “Is This Thing On #2 Too,” a tribute to SNL.

For this show, artist were asked to create work based on the memorable sketches from SNL’s long history. For Monster Factory it was a no-brainer to base their piece on the Land Shark sketch because of their big love of all things shark related and their designers’ nostalgic connection to vintage SNL.

This looks so, so awesome, I would love to attend this! I think Monster Factory, hands down, creates the most original plush designs out there, and each character has so much personality and charm. I would love to learn from the masters!

Set within Magic Pony, Toronto's premiere space for young contemporary art, attendees will create and sew their own original, plush companion to bring home.

One of my favorite companies is heading to SDCC, for a Monster Hunt! Monster Factory doesn't have their own booth, but their Monster Ambassador, Shannon, will be walking the show, equipped with 12 free monsters and some super cute buttons!

Here's the details:

At the San Diego Comic-ConMonsters are up for grabs at the Comic-Con...if you can find them.
Monster Factory may not have a booth at the San Diego Comic-Con, but that doesn't mean that monsters won't be there. The MF is unleashing their second newest member of their team, Shannon Naugle. As an official Monster Factory Ambassador, she will be roaming the aisles of the San Diego Comic-Con fully loaded with free mini monsters and buttons for you to hunt down and find.
Here’s the deal:
The first 12 people to find Shannon will get a free mini monster, and everyone else gets free buttons! How will you know how to find Shannon? Thanks, Monster Factory!

I love my new Betty from Monster Factory, but Bella loves her too. A lot. In fact, as I tried to take Betty's picture, Bella cried and cried and wouldn't get out of the frame. Monster Factory is loved by all.

P.S. Betty is one of the nicest quality plushies I have ever owned. I love how firm her stuffing is and she is super soft!

Betty, an awesome new plush by Monster Factory, is perfect for Valentine's Day, or the Anti-Valentine's Day!

A little about Betty:
When watching sentimental movies with her friends, Betty is the only one who doesn’t cry. She’s a “realist”.
Size: 2" x 5.5" x 4".
Studio Edition monsters are made in limited runs at the Monster Factory’s Toronto location. They are available exclusively online and through the Monster Factory studio.
