Kelly Tunstall & Ferris Plock "Inside Voices"

A few weeks ago we went to Kelly Tunstall & Ferris Plock's newest show, Inside Voices, at FFDG in San Francisco. I've been a huge fan of Kelly's work for years- in fact a show she had at 111 Minna was one of the first art shows I ever attended in SF and I've been smitten ever since.

I took a bunch of photos at Inside Voices, which I am sharing here, because I really wish I could have taken all the pieces home with me so I could live in this magical world everyday! This show runs through the end of this week (5/22). There's lots more fantastic work that I haven't shown here!

"Bad Dads" Wes Anderson Tribute at Spoke Art

I went to the fantastic BAD DAD's Wes Anderson tribute show at Spoke Art last weekend and thought I'd share some photos of the work on display. The miniature replicas by Vic De Leon were especially amazing, with incredible little details. My photos don't do them justice (also included my finger so you can see the scale- they are TINY!). Lots of the pieces were sold out by the time I went to the show, but you can see all the prints originally on display here and originals here- there's still some pretty incredible pieces available!

Miss Van - San Francisco

I am awestruck by the gorgeous new mural Miss Van painted with Ciro Schu last week in San Francisco. (It's at the intersection of Haight and Steiner in Lower Haight if you want to see it!)

I feel so fortunate to be able to see her work in person. I am always struck by her ability to create something beautiful on a canvas, and create something just as beautiful on a huge wall. When you get up close to her paintings, there's these little details that add so much- a slight blush to the cheeks or the way she accents the flow of hair, or the gold paint she used here on the headpiece. I particularly love this mural, of course, because it's in my city, and I consider San Francisco to be a more beautiful place because of this amazing gift she has given to all of us.

Here's some of my favorite photos of the new mural, as I was there I couldn't help feeling so happy and thankful and yeah- a little emotional- that my favorite artist made my favorite place a little better. Thank you, Miss Van! <3

Ferris Plock "Rest for the Wicked"

Fantastic work from Ferris Plock's last show at Shooting Gallery. Love the modern characters juxtaposed with classic Japanese style imagery.

DGPH Journey to Molestown at Gallery 1988 SF

I'm a big fan of the Argentina based DGPH and so excited for the upcoming show 'Journey to Molestown' at Gallery 1988 SF! I will actually be in SF during the exhibit run (through April 17th) so I can't wait to see the show!

The opening reception is tonight, from 7-10 pm

LeBasse Projects Showcase Series- San Francisco

Culver City's LeBasse Projects will be hosting a 4 day exhibit in San Francisco featuring one of my favorite artists, Seonna Hong! Check out the details from the press release:

LeBasse Projectsʼ temporary exhibition offers San Francisco a collection of work by some of the galleryʼs best and brightest talent.
