I AM GOODY Kickstarter Campaign

Candy and Nick Robertson are the wonderful artists behind Noferin, and they've just launched a new Kickstarter campaign! I AM GOODY is an inspiring concept- a well-designed, thoughtful magazine for kids ages 6-12! (Of course, I was hooked the moment I saw my favorite duo, TADO had designed the first cover!), plus there will be puzzles by Peskimo, and contributions by Andrea Kang! Lots of great people coming together on this project!

About I AM GOODY:

I AM GOODY is a quarterly magazine for girls and boys aged 6 - 12 years old that dares to be different. It is inspiring. It is beautiful. It is unique. GOODY is creating and celebrating goodness.

Let's help make this great idea a reality! Visit the I AM GOODY kickstarter HERE.

Shlii Handmade: Norfolk Merdogs Kickstarter

The super-talented Jackie from Shlii Handmade has a new kickstarter campaign to help fund these adorable Norfolk Merdogs! Here's all the details of her campaign:

Jackie Ashley, founder and owner of Shlii, is proud to announce the launch of her Kickstarter project, Norfolk Merdogs: Merpug Cute Plush Toys!

In 2013, Jackie created the Norfolk Merdogs line, which is made up of cute mermaid-dogs. “Merpug” is by far the most popular character and is well-loved by fans young and old. In November 2014 Jackie started working with Shinedown Productions, Inc. to create a highly detailed, professionally produced Merpug plush toy. She has collaborated with the production company for the past six months to achieve her vision. Each plush measures ten inches tall, is made with soft, high quality fabric, and is embellished with expertly embroidered details.

Plush production is extremely expensive, so Merpug can only be produced with the help of crowdfunding. Kickstarter campaigns are “all or nothing”; if the funding goal is not met Jackie receives no funding, and the Merpug plush will not be produced. Kickstarter enables people from all over the world to bring Merpug to life by backing the project and helping it reach its funding goal of $7,500. There are several backer rewards available, such as Norfolk Merdogs keychains, vinyl stickers, art prints, and the Merpug designer plush. With the help of many generous Kickstarter backers, the hilarious, absolutely adorable Merpug can be adopted by friends and fans all over the world.

Camila Prada's Kickstarter

It's with lots of happiness that I write this post, because it involves some of my most favorite artists and makers, and the project is already fully-funded! But I wanted to share it anyhow, because it's so adorable and I wanted to help spread the word.

The wonderful ceramicist Camila Prada, whose adorable creations I've collected and shared over the years, teamed up with my favorite duos, TADO and LouLou & Tummie, plus Marnie Makes to create a wonderful line of new storage jars! In order to produce these cuties, she needed to raise about $10,000 on Kickstarter- but I am happy to say she's well over her goal, at the time I am writing this post she's already at $45,000 and counting!

Check out the Kickstarter here, there's still a chance to get some of these adorable creations for yourself, while supporting Camilla, a dedicated, lovely and talented maker.

The Mythicals Kickstarter Progress!

I was super excited to come home from SDCC to the news that the Monster Factory Kickstarter campaign has been funded! It's been doing so well, in fact, that two out of three stretch goals have been unlocked! PEGASUS and YETI will become real! Now there's 14 days left to unlock the last stretch goal character! I know it can be done... visit The Mythicals on Kickstarter to help unlock the last monster!

Monster Factory: The Mythicals

I am a HUGE Monster Factory fan. Their monsters are always so adorable and original, and I am always impressed with the quality- super soft, well-stuffed, lovable, huggable monsters. Their newest venture is one of the most exciting yet... meet THE MYTHICALS! This Kickstarter campaign will make your favorite mythical beasts an adorable reality. There's a Dragon named Spencer, a Unicorn named Margot, and a monster names Louie.

Check out the campaign HERE, let's make these monsters more than a myth!

P.S. I have my very own Margot- stay tuned for updates about the progress of this campaign and photos from my adventures with the cutest unicorn that ever was.

Oborocharms Kickstarter Campaign

Kim from the adorable Oborocharms shop needs some help re-making her owl plushies! They were such a huge hit, they all sold out, and the costs of making plush are so high (and I know this from experience!) that she has launched a Kickstarter campaign to try and raise enough for the next go around. There's some awesome prizes involved for those who can help her out. Check out all the details here!

Kickstarter : Kibun Plush Toy

Here's the press release for "Kibun" a cool new kickstarter project!

Our intention is to turn a character named Kibun into a series of plush toys. We hope it to be the starting point of many projects to come.

A WORD FROM THE CREATOR

Kibun is something special to me. He is a character I have spent the past few years of my life devoting to. What started as a few sketches has taken its time to grow into a fully materialized vision. It is the ongoing result of countless hours of thought and work, so much so that it has become a part of who I am. What Kibun truly is, is an extension of myself that I have attempted to express into tangible form.

I took a several year hiatus from making art, and this character is what was able to bring back my passion for art and craft. It is something that will remain a part of me, for the rest of my life.

Crowded Teeth: Super Mini Universe: A Year Long Art Project

The AMAZING Michelle Romo from Crowded Teeth has a new kickstarter project! Support her awesomeness so she can proceed with Super Mini Universe!

Here's the details from her Kickstarter page:

The plan for Super Mini Universe is to do alternating months of illustration and construction for a year to create a giant cohesive year long art project.

Starting March 1st, I would draw something every day building a month long super illustration. Then in April I would build a physical, 3D version of what I drew in March using various media and techniques, including layered laser cut wood, plush, stained glass, paint, paper etc.

Illustration would start again in May, picking up where March left off, and in June I would go back to construction, and so on. At that end of the year I would have one continuous, enormous illustration of the Super Mini Universe, and a huge, cohesive 3D version of it as well!

So the schedule would be:

March 2012: Draw
April 2012: Build March's Drawings

May 2012: Draw
June 2012: Build May's Drawings

July 2012: Draw
August 2012: Build July's Drawings

September 2012: Draw
October 2012: Build September's Drawings

November 2012: Draw
December 2012: Build November's Drawings

January 2013: Draw
February 2013: Build January's Drawings

March 2013 - CELEBRATE!

At the end of the year I will host an art show to celebrate the magic!
We will all hug and rejoice!

Throughout the year I will be making weekly blog posts to update the project. There will be a handmade book at the end of the project that will consist of the photos and illustrations posted in the blog.

I am approximating that the 3D version of Super Mini Universe will fill an 8' X 10' space. The layout is not definite yet! The universe has yet to be created! The final illustration prints will be 16" X 20".

Below are some images of artwork I've done in the various forms I plan to use when building the Super Tiny Universe (but they aren't limited to this!):
