Miss Van's New Works for Twinkles at Magda Danysz Gallery

Photobucket

There's been two fantastic posts about Miss Van complete with images from her upcoming show, Twinkles, at Magda Danysz Gallery. I first saw her work at this gallery in Paris, and it's one of the highlights of my life! I just adore her new work. Her style has evolved a lot but it remains a mysterious and lovely depiction of her poupees. She is still my favorite. So wonderful.
There's also a video highlighting some pieces from the show to enjoy at the bottom of this post.

Photobucket

Oh! I love Mr. Clement! This show is sure to be great!

VIA: Vinyl Pulse

Mr. Clement will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of his beloved Lapin with his “Loin des yeux, loin du cœur” solo which opens on Thursday, April 22nd (7 PM) @ Artoyz Paris. For the show Mr. Clement has pulled out all the stops – original drawings from his upcoming book, large imaginative Lapin Sculptures, what look to be a large number of new lapin moustache figures complete with multi-color scarves and last but not certainly not least a really nice special edition petit astrolapin in paris (above, ed. of 60) rocking a moustache and accented with a colorful paint mist – only available at the opening.

Photos from Koralie's 'emanessence'

Galerie LJ in Paris has photos now from the Koralie show, 'emanessence' that I blogged about last week. It looks stunning, as usual... I love the pieces that reminiscent of insects behind glass. Koralie is amazing!

Koralie : Emanessence

Okay, who wants to fly me to Paris for Koralie's new show, "emanessence" at Galerie LJ?

From the press release:
What makes you more nostalgic than the memory of a perfume? It is this feeling that Koralie aims to stimulate in her deliciousnew solo show. 'Emanessence' is an invitation to travel into a cosmos sprayed with perfumes sometimes subtle, sometimes heady, sensual, floral or spicy. You will discover Koralie's collection of fragrant Imagomyus and their subtle range of nectars that she has collected for you.

Takashi Murakami Paints Self Portraits

Oh, Takashi Murakami. Your work makes me swoon. I just love all KaiKai, and Kiki, and... well, everything you make really.

Takashi Murakami has a new show, Takashi Murakami Paints Self-Portraits, which will be held at the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris from September 15th through October 17th. Oh, how I wish I could go!

My Colette Wishlist

Oh Colette. I am glad I don't live in Paris... I would be too tempted to spend all my money at this fabulous shop.
The top item on my list would have to be these pink and white striped reeboks, then it would be the hello kitty headphones, and for the table- this pink planter. Hmmm, I must be in a pink mood today!

Mr. : Nobody Dies

KaiKai Kiki artist Mr. has a new show at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris. Mr.'s work is never what it seems. From the surface, you would think his manga and anime inspired characters are cute and innocent, but they are usually portrayed in a sexual or adult context. Oftentimes, he plays with their sexuality, and the young girls will have large male genitalia, or the little boys will have breasts. My favorite part of his work is usually the eyes- sometimes he paints whole other worlds in his characters eyes. I'm sure this show will delve even deeper into the 'children in adult circumstances' theme.
