I've been a fan of Bwana Spoons since the first Comic Con I ever went to, about 5 or 6 years ago. He has created a lot of wonderful art since then, and his new silkscreen print, Gary the Nerdasaurus is no exception. Only $20, available in his webstore.

Elements Alpha Series

This week, Artoyz in Paris released their artist edition Elements Alpha Series. Some of the participating artists include Koralie, Pulco Mayo, Jon Burgerman, Bwana Spoons and Nathan Jurevicius. The Koralie is my favorite :)

The Continuous Spectrum @ Double Punch

Double Punch in San Francisco has a new group show opening this weekend featuring the work of Mark Todd, Bwana Spoons, Martin Ontiveros and Jesse Balmer.
The show is on view March 14th - April 5th and the opening reception is this Saturday at 7pm.

Post-It Show 3 @ Giant Robot

Post-it 3 opens this weekend, December 13th, at GR2 in Los Angeles and features the work of over 95 different artists.

I always love post-it art shows. The pieces are affordable, there are lots to choose from, and they are easy to put up- especially if you buy a few and make a little "post-it collage" on your wall.

Giant Robot magazine and stores is proud to present Post-It Show 3 at GR2 in Los Angeles. Curated by artists Mark Todd and Esther Pearl Watson and Giant Robot, the exhibition is slated to feature nearly 2,000 works by over 95 noted contributors each starting at only $20. These pieces will be on standard-sized 3" x 3" Post-It notes. (Larger sizes of 4" x 4" and 6" x 6" will also be available.)

GR2 will offer them on a cash and carry basis, so they'll make great holiday gifts.

More than 95 artists will participate, including some TokyoBunnie favorites like:

Hut on an Island @ Grass Hut

Hut on an Island is a new group show at Grass Hut in Portland. The show features pieces done in collaborations between artists who have not worked on pieces together in the past.

Bwana Spoons "Hunt & Gather" @ Artoyz Paris

Bwana Spoons is exhibiting for the first time in Europe at Artoyz Paris. The exhibition runs from today through November 2nd.

Fully Visual : Designer Lamps

I'm a sucker for artist editions of just about anything... and now Fully Visual has released three different artist edition lamps. They say that the lamp is designed to illumintae the giclee quality printed shade, come with a certificate of authenticity, and are signed and numbered (editions of 25). They feature the art of Amanda Visell, Joe Ledbetter, and Bwana Spoons.

Bwana Spoons and Justin "Scrappers" Morrison are coming outta the closet. The secrets out, they're from California. They've kept it a secret because they thought Oregonians might get mad and hate on them with a "Locals Only" attitude. As it turns out though, everyone's been super nice and welcoming here in Portland. So take this show as a welcome right back at you.
In their new body of work the Cali-boys explore and reflect everything rad and lame about California. That covers everything from surfing legend Moon-Doggy to gangsta rap legend Easy-E.
Using vivid colors and bold icons in their new painting, Bwana and Scrappers celebrate their first show together in Grass Hut gallery (the galley they both own and operate).

He's also got these super rad shoes out now... I want some!
