Favorite Artist Etsy Shops

Obviously, Etsy is an amazing marketplace of talent. I am overwhelmed whenever I venture into the thousands upon thousands of shops featuring handmade items. One thing I especially love about Etsy is the ability to purchase work from artists and have the profits go right in their pockets. I love going to gallery shows, but if I can purchase something right from an artist, I'd always prefer it. Here's some of my favorite artist-run Etsy shops.

Favorite product line: The Tummie Friends

Being a huge Lou Lou & Tummie fan, I was so excited when they announced their Tummie Friends project!
Now there's a whole line of cuteness- plush and slippers, umbrellas, keychains- and everythins is covered in candy-coated-cuteness!
They have a blog, and e-cards, and you can follow them on Twitter, too!

Best movie of 2010 : Where the Wild Things Are

Not only did Dave Eggers write the book, and Geoff McFetridge do the titles, but the movie was beautifully executed from start to finish. I was deeply moved- I cried through the whole thing. The story, the visuals, everything culminated in perfection.

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays everyone! I will be back next week with some more "Best of" posts to finish out the year!

Favorite Artist Collab

This one is easy. I am totally in love with Koralie & Supakitch's Metroplastique shop. Everything in it is fantastic. Clothing, accessories, toys and prints by the coolest artist duo around.

Toy Store of the Year : Dragatomi

Since we are nearing the end of 2009, the rest of my posts will be some best-of favorites from the past year. Let's start with one of my favorite things- a TOY store!

My boyfriend's family lives in Sacramento, and I'll be honest- there isn't a lot to do when we visit for the holidays. So I was SUPER excited this Thanksgiving to visit Dragatomi- it's about time there was some TokyoBunnie-esque shopping to be done in Sacramento!

I was really impressed with the store- they had a huge collection of toys for sale and a gallery in the back. Their toy selection was probably one of the best I've ever seen in one store.

If you can't make it to their store be sure to check them out online, they've even got some cool Dragatomi exclusives like this Fat Cat Miao and Mousubi - "Dead Edition" by Amanda Visell and of course their darling Dragatomi plush. They've also got a great selection of Crazy Label's Treeson products, which of course I love!
