Miss Van 'Wild at Heart' opening

Photobucket

Miss Van's gorgeous new show, Wild at Heart, opened a couple of weeks ago at Copro Nason. I was travelling and couldn't attend, but my awesome mom and sister went and sent me these photos! They've been gushing about how beautiful and lovely Miss Van is in person, and I am so excited because she drew a sketch for me and my mom bought me a print from the show! I don't get to pick them up until next week, but here's the photos they took at the opening. I'm disapointed I didn't get to meet her myself, but this is the next best thing!

Miss Van "Wild at Heart" at Copro Gallery

I'm writing this post a bit begrudgingly, as I'd like nothing more than to finally get to attend a Miss Van solo show opening. Alas, this show, which I'd gladly have flown to LA for, falls on the first day of my vacation, and I'll be in New York. However, all you lucky Los Angeles folks can attend and tell me all about how amazing and lovely she is!

Miss Van, "Wild At Heart" at Copro Gallery,

Opening Reception, Saturday, August 11, 8:00 – 11:30 p.m.

Free T-Shirt giveaway from "Citizens of Humanity" & special ltd. prints

Dates: Exhibit runs; August 11 –September 1 , 2012

From the press release:

“For this body of work Miss Van explores “Wild At Heart” mostly through drawings on paper and wood and some paintings keeping the movement, lightness of the lines, the spontaneity blurry, as in a dream or vision ….. floating.”

P.S. I swiped the top photo from some great Hi-Fructose coverage of the show, which you can read, here.

Noferin 'The Place we Call Home' @ CoproNason

Candy & Nicho of Noferin are pros at creating super adorable characters. I loved their last show at Copro Nason and am no less excited for 'The Place we Call Home', which opens this weekend, September 5th, and runs through September 26th.

I love the look of traditional settings interacting with Noferin's signature characters. Noferin also has a new line of wood blindbox mini figures, and a line of plush, to be released in the upcoming months.

See the full web preview of Noferin's show here.

Copro Nason Prints

Copro Nason Gallery hosts shows by an amazing array of artists, including some that are often featured on the TokyoBunnie blog like Noferin, Kukula, Audrey Kawasaki, Amy Sol, Joe Ledbetter and others. They have some great prints for sale in their online store right now. See some of my favorites after the jump, or check them all out on Copro Nason's site here. (Print featured above is by Thomas Han)

*UPDATE Once Again- Photobucket has flagged a painting I posted as adult content so you won't be able to see all the Kukula prints that are available- you'll have to go to Copro Nason's site to see them. Grrrr....
