Pinkghost Artist Chubby Books Series

Pinkghost gallery in Florida hosts some really great shows, and they have a terrific selection of vinyl toys and artist goods.

They've collaborated with 3 of my favorite artists, 64 Colors, Julie West, and Helena Garcia to create a line of super adorable rounded color sketchbooks called Artist Chubby Books.

Artist Chubby Books are 250 page Hardcover books including 10 artist designed postcards, 100 lined pages and 150 sketch pages.

It's a perfect combo- super amazing selection of postcards that will be too cute to send away, blank AND lined paper! It's my ideal sketchbook!

Now the only problem is choosing one- I want all 3!

The Chubby Books will be released on Saturday, September 5th online and in the Pink Ghost store.

The Kokeshi: From Folk Art to Art Toy

The Kokeshi exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles opens this weekend. The exhibition will be presented in three sections: traditional, contemporary American; and custom. Exploring the kokeshi doll from it's initial Japanese Folk art roots to it's rising popularity in today's art and toy culture, this show is filled original dolls from some amazing artists.
Some of my favorites include APAK, Amy Sol, Bubi Au Yeung, Camilla Engman, CJ Metzger, PCP, Jeremiah Ketner, Julie West, Miss Mindy, Noferin, and Tado.

It's sure to be incredible! Runs through October 4th.

There's a great show opening at Rotofugi this weekend- "Flower Parade" features the work of Jeremiah Ketner and Julie West.

You can see a preview of some of Jeremiah's pieces on his Flickr. This is really a new style of painting for him and I think the paintings look gorgeous!

Julie West : Sickly Sweet

Julie West has a show opening at My Plastic Heart in NYC tomorrow. She's also got two new toys coming out, by Strangeco that are pretty sweet.
