Fawn Gehweiler & Necessaries Toy Foundation

While on the subject of the lovely and talented Fawn Gehweiler, I was super excited to see this sneak peek of her upcoming toy from Necessaries Toy Foundation!

Read more about her on Fawn's blog, here.

Pink Attitude: Contemporary Female Creativity

Compound Gallery's current show, 'Pink Attitude: Contemporary Female Creativity' features work from some of today's best female artists, including Fawn Gehweiler, Miss Kika, Candybird and more.

Show ends after this weekend, but you can check out the pieces online here.

Fawn Gehweiler

I have always been a huge Fawn Gehweiler fan, and I am exicted to see these updates in her online shop!

She is having an amazing art sale on original paintings here- this is a great opportunity to buy some of her original work at really amazing prices. There's also a super cute new enamel deer pin and some gorgeous prints available in her online shop. I own a couple of pieces by Fawn and I love them! Her doe eyed girls always make me happy!

Hut on an Island @ Grass Hut

Hut on an Island is a new group show at Grass Hut in Portland. The show features pieces done in collaborations between artists who have not worked on pieces together in the past.

Storm + Dawn Riddle, Luke Ramsey + Jill Bliss, Zeesy Powers + Scrappers, Ben Jacques + Le Merde, Irana Douer + Betsy Walton, Bwana Spoons + Theo Ellsworth, Charlotte Walton + Fawn Gehweiler, Oliver Hibert + Owen Plummer, Maseman + Arbito, Shawn Wolfe + Kinoko, Howie Tsui + Apak

Fawn Gehweiler @ Urban Outfitters

A few weeks back I was rummaging through the mounds of clearance items at Urban Outfitters, and I stumbled upon a cute little birdie table. It was a little mangled, as things on sale at Urban often are, and I didn't get it. I've been thinking about how sad I was that I didn't get it ever since... and lo and behold, it was designed by Fawn Gehweiler! I don't know if the box just didn't say anything, or if I neglected to notice her name, but surely I would have scooped it up had I known!

She did a whole set of Scandinavian inspired items for Urban, including some cute prints. For some reason the prints are on sale- and I'm sure it's because Urban tends to think they have a certain kind of customer, privy to wonderful art, but it's my belief that this is not true. Urban does have a lot of cool stuff, and although their quality is sometimes below par,and they have also been known to steal art (from people like Princess Tina and Johnny Cupcakes), I just don't know if the kids shopping there know about people like Fawn, and appreciate great art.

Anyway, the table is adorable and so are the prints. She also has some really cute prints available in her webshop.

Fawn Gehweiler @ Moshi Moshi

This weekend marks the opening of Fawn Gehweiler's new show, Pink Sunshine at Moshi Moshi in Portland.
I have been a fan of Fawn's art for quite some time now. I have a few pieces that she did for Anthem magazine, and I just adore them. I also use my Fawn Sketchel bag a lot, too!

Sweet Sunny Temper @ Double Punch
