SDCC Loot

This was the best year of SDCC I have ever done. People showed me so much love and were so kind with their encouragement! Being a self employed artist means I don't often get feedback, so going to a show and being so supported is just amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who came to the Bored Inc. booth! It's because of all of you that I get to do what I love!

It wasn't all work- I did manage to sneak away for a bit and score some goodies! I got two prints from Junko Mizuno's 'Tender Succubus' show at Gallery Nucleus (now I have all 3!), lots of Marshalls by 64 Colors, James Jarvis' King Ken from Strangeco, the TokiDoki SDCC colorways of Captain Coco and Skeletrino and Skeletrina, a print and an original Mr. Toast, and a super cute pea goodie bag from our pals at Conduct Happiness.

Two of my biggest scores came from Kid Robot. I've hated on the attitudes of their employees in the past, but I have to say that the people working the booth at Comic Con this year were SO nice, and even let me trade my duplicate Junko Mizuno 'Pure Trance' Umeko & Takeko duplicates for Rika! So stoked! I also got a few of the new Tado Fortune Pork Plush and also got Cloak from Cannibal Funfair.

I'll upload more pics soon, and I am working on getting all the new product onto my site. A lot of stuff sold out, so if you don't see what you are looking for, be patient, I just have to make more!

Bulldog vs. UglyDoll

Bella fell in love with my new Uglydoll. Then she ate his arms off. Boo.

Home!

I am back, and so so tired! I caught a cold towards the end of Comic Con, and it just wiped me out.

I have so much fun stuff to post- I promise I'll be back in action tomorrow!

Skinny Ribs // Marion Hawkes

I've always been a fan of Maz's Flickr photos. She shares my love of Tado, and Apak, and Burgerman, and... I could go on and on here, we have really similar art taste!

I have been so busy coveting her art collection and devising ways to sneak into her house and nab some of those custom Tado's... that I think I neglected to realize that she is an amazing artist too!

Her plush photostream is just beyond words. She took my adoration of vector characters and plushified them! Check them all out here, they are super adorable!

She's also got a really great Etsy shop filled with camera inspired paintings, brooches, and plush. Check that out here.

And, follow her on Twitter... then I'll know when she's headed out of town so I can sneak in and steal her amazing art collection hehehe!

TokiDoki Gelaskins @ Urban Retro UK

I recently posted about the awesome selection of prints and posters in the Urban Retro UK online shop.

Since we've been on a bit of a TokiDoki kick lately, I thought it would be a good time to mention that they've also got a terrific selection of TokiDoki gelaskins for your phone and laptop. Super cute!

Check out the whole store actually- clothes, toys, lots of cool stuff!

More Simone Legno @ Target (& Paul Frank too)

But wait, there's more! A second trip to a larger Target led me to the Simone Legno back to school section. It's full of binders, book covers, highlighters, pencils- anything you need in the way of school supplies.

Also appearing at your neighborhood Target? Paul Frank! Again, only in the girl's section (come on Target - women wear cute graphics too!) and it's a limited selection, but I tried a hoodie on and it's as nice as the PF Hoodies I've bought in their stores (for half the price). Check online for a better selection of PF stuff.

Target's on a roll... do I see 'Gwen Stefani' for Target coming soon?
